LEACROFT ROAD PARK

Public BBQ

Leacroft Road Park offers a 1.4km paved loop through Brisbane bushland just outside the city. The circuit walk winds through gentle terrain with park benches along the way. Wildlife spotting is the main draw, though sightings are hit or miss. Some visitors spot koalas within minutes, while others crane their necks the entire walk without success. Tawny frogmouths and kookaburras appear more reliably. The trail is fully paved and wheelchair accessible, making it suitable for families with young children and those with mobility needs. Part of the track doubles as a shared horse trail. Facilities include barbecue areas, toilets, and plenty of free parking. Information signs dot the route. The shaded bushland provides a peaceful escape even on hot days, with birdsong and serene surroundings. It's a straightforward walk that delivers accessible bushland without travelling far from Brisbane.
